Waaris was born from an inheritance. Our kitchen begins with recipes carried across generations — techniques never written down, proportions measured by memory, flavours perfected long before we arrived.
But an heir’s duty is not to keep a legacy behind glass. It is to give it a future.

The Founders
THREE FAMILIES. ONE table.
Before there was a restaurant, there were three family kitchens. The older photographs here are where our recipes began. The newest was taken in the half-finished room that became Waaris.
Then and now: the families our recipes come from, and the three founders in the room that became Waaris.
Waaris is the newest house from the family behind India Paradise, whose kitchens now reach from Windsor to Calgary. Three families, one table: this is where their recipes finally share a kitchen.

Before Waaris, there was India Paradise — kitchens in Halifax and across Canada, run by the same family. Waaris is what that family inherited, and what it decided to do next.
